OUR APPROACH

Local guidance for your family's next step

Choosing senior living means weighing care, cost, location and the things that make a place feel like home. GlenOak brings community information together and connects you with a local advisor when you want help taking the next step.

Considering a particular community? Get help evaluating it—and compare other options if you'd like. A broader local perspective can help you understand total costs, compare practical fit, and explore alternatives if your first choice is full.

Bring us the community you have in mind

You can begin with a place you already found. We help you work through its published details, make a list of what still needs a direct answer, and decide whether you want to compare alternatives. You are free to contact any community directly.

Understand the full bill and agreement

Separate housing from support, extra monthly services and one-time fees. Ask for a dated written quote for the actual room and services under consideration. Our planning tools help you compare the total with your current budget.

Make visits useful

Ask about a typical day, how help is arranged, what the contract includes, and what could change later. Take the same questions to every community so the answers are easier to compare. Use the tour checklist to record what was confirmed.

Get personal guidance when it is available

Where GlenOak can connect you with a local advisor, we explain the next step and ask permission before sharing your request with one approved advisor business. You decide whether to request help, ask about one community or consider others.

Start with what matters to your family

Browse communities and compare the information available. Where local advisor help is available, you can ask about the area, preferred living option, budget and timing you're considering. It's fine to be unsure or prefer to discuss the details.

Get help with the questions a listing cannot answer

A local advisor can help you compare options and ask communities about current prices, care charges, openings and move-in offers. If a website does not show availability, you can still ask about current openings. An inquiry is a starting point; the community confirms its prices, availability and tour arrangements.

The goal is to understand the whole cost and the fit for your family, including what's included in rent, what care costs extra and what questions to ask during a visit.

Know what happens after you send a request

With your permission, GlenOak shares your request with one approved local advisor business. You choose email or a phone call for the response. The local advisor provides personalized guidance and handles the placement process. We preserve the community you asked about and ask separately whether you're open to alternatives.

We ask for new permission before sharing your request with a different advisor business. You can ask GlenOak to stop further sharing or contact. Your request does not commit you to a move.

Understand how we are paid

GlenOak's guidance is available at no cost to families. After a successful placement, the community may pay placement compensation to GlenOak and a local placement partner under their arrangement. A partner should explain any separate optional service fee before you agree to that service.

GlenOak operates the directory and intake service. Local advisor partners provide personalized placement services. GlenOak does not own or operate the communities in the directory.

Contact a community directly when you prefer

Community phone numbers and website links on a listing connect to the community. GlenOak's advisor request connects you with local advisor help. You can choose the route that works for your family.

How to qualify

Where the community information comes from

Our directory brings together public licensing information and community/operator information across U.S. metro areas. We keep source records and dates behind each listing. Sources differ by state and community; a licensing record describes a license and capacity, not available rooms, quality or suitability.

Our original Phoenix collection includes Arizona’s public licensing register and supplemental community information. National profiles use approved source records and may include modeled planning estimates. We label estimates separately from reported prices. Independent living is not always represented in assisted-living licensing records.

Confirm the exact location’s current services, license where applicable, written rates and availability before choosing a community. State guides point to official offices for local questions.

Prices and budgets

Community pages distinguish approved published prices, modeled estimates, and regional benchmarks. Estimated prices are planning information, not current community quotes; each presentation states its basis and limitations. We do not invent facility prices where none are available. Care charges, entrance fees, deposits, and other fees may add to the total.

Reviews

Community pages show an available overall rating, count, and written summary. Current Google ratings and supplied summaries retain required attribution. The count may include ratings without written comments; the service does not provide a complete review archive. Reviews describe individual experiences, not verified clinical outcomes.

We are developing a separate GlenOak score using review sources that permit that use. Our exact weighting may be proprietary, but referral payments will not change the score. GlenOak review submissions remain unavailable until moderation is ready.

How communities appear

The default Browse order puts listings with approved photos first, then considers available contact details and licensed capacity before name. It is a browsing order, not a quality ranking. You can choose Name A–Z, City A–Z or Reviews instead. Inclusion does not imply a paid partnership, endorsement or participation in the move-in support program. A CCRC offers a continuum of retirement living and care; contract terms, entrance fees, and healthcare commitments differ by community.

Listing claims

Community representatives can submit a claim request on a listing. GlenOak reviews the request and verifies the representative’s authority before approving a claim. Approval does not give direct editing access; proposed listing updates are reviewed before publication. Listing management is separate from referral agreements and review scoring.
